AKZ Health and Safety Policy

1. Introduction

SIA AKZ (AKZ) recognizes and accepts its health and safety duties for providing a safe and healthy working environment for all its employees. The Health and Safety Policy (the Policy) requires compliance with all applicable laws and regulations on health and safety.

2. AKZ commitments

AKZ health and safety approach adopts the following commitments:

• To develop and maintain a safe and healthy working environment for all employees.
• To ensure significant risks arising from work activities under AKZ control are eliminated or adequately controlled.
• To ensure the Policy is understood and implemented throughout the organization on daily basis, encouraging employees’ personal commitment and involvement in upholding the Policy.
• To provide the most suitable means of protection at all times.
• To regularly review compliance with the Policy and the management systems that support it.

3. Governance

AKZ complies with the requirements of the applicable health and safety regulations for the health and safety of employees, business partners and others that may be affected by us. We identify, plan, reduce, control and monitor risks arising from our activity, creating a safe well-planned controlled and healthy environment. AKZ seeks to develop the best practice throughout the company, developing and implementing good operational practices, engaging with our internal and external stakeholders providing and improving our health and safety standards. AKZ embeds our health and safety values throughout the company, developing and implementing best practice where practicable from both external and internal sources. AKZ inform, supervise, instruct and train employees and where required, external contractors as to their duties and responsibilities, enhancing their requisite competencies and health and safety awareness both for themselves and others.  AKZ acknowledges its responsibility to continually improve its health and safety performance and review the fundamental principles set out above. All employees are actively encouraged to contribute towards improvements.

4. Application

The Policy applies to all our operations, the employees, and our business partners. Where AKZ does not have operating control, we encourage our partners to demonstrate the commitments reflected in the Policy. 

Any employee with questions about the Policy or who has any concerns regarding perceived deviations from the Policy, should promptly contact their direct manager or senior management. Alternatively, we encourage reporting via the procedure described in the AKZ Whistleblowing Policy.

5. Policy Changes

AKZ reserves the right to make any amendments to the Policy without prior notice.
